‘Within an interbellum townhouse in Ghent, I was asked to update the bathroom respecting the context. The characterful wooden doors, suspended lamps and period details were kept intact. The requested new shower and washbasin were executed in solid surface composite. Their white finish brings brightness in the room without being overbearing. The new low cabinetry in greyed elmwood is again a ‘quiet’ material choice, not to overrule the existing atmosphere.’
