In the renovation of this existing villa, realised in close collaboration with AR-architecten, the ground floor was opened up. This intervention enhances daylight, improves sightlines and spatial flow, and strengthens the connection with the garden and surrounding woodland. A minimalist approach and limited moodboard guided the design, with black oak, walnut, grey microtopping, light oak parquet and Pietra di Catharina natural stone forming a calm and coherent material palette. Additional mirrored surfaces and details lift the spaces with a playful, reflecting touch.
"Within the generously proportioned entrance area, the staircase forms a pivotal moment in the house. The available space allowed it to be conceived as a sculptural element with floating stone treads."
